At the Youth Music Academy in Barcelona, we believe in the extraordinary potential of every young musician. Our mission is to provide a nurturing and supportive environment where your adolescents unique musical gifts can flourish. Whether they are neuro-typical or neuro-diverse, we celebrate their individuality and tailor our approach to meet their specific learning needs. 

Our Academy offers private instrumental tuition and combo opportunities, focusing on jazz, classical and modern music. We go beyond traditional music education by incorporating production skills, ensuring that your child is well-rounded and versatile. Our program is designed to foster lifelong learning skills, building confidence, creativity, and a deep love for music. We believe in creating a strong community where every student feels valued and supported.  BYMA is part of The Institute of Health Promotion and Education (IHPE).

With a mentorship scheme and collaborations with top recording artists from Spain, LA, UK and Switzerland, we open doors to the music industry for exceptional talents, providing them with opportunities to shine on global stages. Private lessons and Combo

Students are encouraged to take a minimum of 1hr lessons a week on their chosen instrument in an afterschool timetable. Lessons can be delivered in English or Spanish. If they are starting out and do not have an instrument we can help you hire or buy a quality instrument. We teach piano, guitar, bass, drums, saxophone, flute, trumpet and singing.  

The combo is an afterschool workshop (3-5pm) where we develop a repertoire of raging from popular music to jazz standards.  Students learn the building blocks of harmony and improvisation, tools which will help them develop their musicianship. 

We also deliver lessons in music production using Ableton 12 live suite and the opportunity to create a weekly combo with a minimum of 3 players if students would like to form their own band/combo.

The Space

Our premises are located in the family friendly neighbourhood of Gracia, Barcelona. We have:

Combo studio located just C/ Providencia. The space is well equipped two acoustic pianos (Grand Piano and Upright), drum kit (ideal for drum lessons), amplifiers for guitar, bass and vocals. The space is ideal for recording performances and student recitals.

Production studio on C/ Ramon y Cajal. Ideal for guitar, bass or saxophone lessons. The space is set up for learning and developing music production skills as well as recording vocals and developing composition skills.

These premises provide the students with high-quality instruments and professional studio production tools to develop their skills in a comfortable and welcoming environment.  We can also provide classes via On-line for students in other countries or families considering moving to Barcelona.
